    • Ankles rejoice! “Roncesvalles Two-step” to be leveled

    The notorious City transportation staff have confirmed that they intend to level out the notorious “Roncesvalles Two-Step” (right), which has been the cause of several twisted ankles and dropped packages. The unusual two-step sidewalk stretches over two blocks on the east side, between Neepawa and Westminster.

    A three-step sidewalk near Boustead on the west side apparently cannot be leveled, but we are told that special design treatments should make the steps more obvious to pedestrians, reducing trips and falls.

    These repairs will take place during the 2009-10 reconstruction of Roncesvalles.
